\nI momentarily weigh two methods:
\nsweeping the dust away with a broom
\nOr sucking it up with a vacuum cleaner.
\nSweeping it away
\nWears out and breaks the broom\u2014
\nThat is, the old way has its limitations.
\nI choose the new way instead:
\nFirst absorbing and embracing all the dust
\nThen spitting it out.
\nAlthough, unlike the old way, this is very noisy,
\nBoth the room and the yard become clean.
\nYet they are too clean.
\nLike the old saying: there are no fish in water that\u2019s too clean,
\nThe floor is so smooth that it looks as if it could reflect my nerves and make me dizzy,
\nAnd the yard becomes so shallow that it looks as if a single leaf of grass would not grow in it.
\nThis wiping clean makes the yard so desolate that it ends up inviting isolation.
\nBesides, if the filter is not changed often,
\nThe overflowing dust
\nRots, stinks, and suffocates inside.
\nAgain I begin to reflect hard on the method of cleaning.<\/p>\n
\nThings that come from outside,
\nThings that are made inside,
\nAnd things that so frequently enter and go out that it is hard to know where they come from.
\nYou who sweep your rooms and yard as soon as you wake up;
\nYou who clean the trash of the world even while your eyes are closed;
\nWatch out, above all, and keep the filter inside you clean!
