I wish my poem could live as a tree does.<\/p>\n

Not like plastic, Styrofoam, or cement,
\nbut like pine, oak, and Zelkova,
\nmy song could live a long life.<\/p>\n

For my poem\u2019s birth,
\nan old tree would be cut.<\/p>\n

I wish that my poem enter the chests of people
\nand become glasses to provide clarity,
\nbecome shoes,
\nbecome a kitchen knife.<\/p>\n

I wish that my song live as long a life as the tree.<\/p>\n
