상상하는 고양이
고양이들은
야옹 나라를 세울 꿈으로 산대
얼룩진 망토를 펄럭이며
어둠에서 어둠으로
아슬아슬하게 건너다니는 밤을
그래서 견딘다는 거야
한때는 처지가 같았던
개와 더불어
옛 주인의 냉장고를 차지하려는
계획을 차곡차곡 세운다는 거지
갈비 구운 게 맛나겠지?
아니야
나는 날 고등어가 먹고 싶네
식탁 의자를 턱 차지하고 앉아
식사를 하고
옛 주인의 온기가 느껴지는
소파에 앉아 수다를 떨다가
피곤하면 안방으로 들어가
침대에 누워 텔레비전을 보는 상상
버려진 고양이들은
그 힘으로 뒷골목을 버틴다는 거야

Cats
live with the dream of founding a meow nation
That’s how they make it through the Night
as Night with its stained cape fluttering
crosses just in the nick of time from darkness to darkness.
Along with dogs
who were once in the same boat
They craft their plans
to take over the old owner’s fridge
Roasted rib sounds good?
Well,
I’d rather have raw mackerel.
Dreaming of the dining table
Having a feast
Sitting on the sofa
with the warmth of the old owner
And going into the bedroom, sleepy-eyed
and watching TV in bed.
Stray cats
survive in the alley with this dream.
