발이 말을 걸어오다
종로에 5호선 지하철이 파도처럼 부려놓고 간
사내의 두 발,
발가락이 서로 마주 보고 있다
평행으로만 가는 내 두 발이
그의 다정한 두 발을 바라본다
발이 마주 절하고 있다
오른 발이 왼발에게 말을 걸고
서로가 서로의 안부를 묻고 있다
그래 오늘은 편안하였니
도란도란 얘기하며 걷는다
평생 평행으로만 걷는 발이
평행을 포기하고 마주보고 걷는다
서로가 서로의 부처가 되어
오체투지하는 만물의 얼굴이
두 발에 담겨 있다
두 발이 부부 같다
남녀가 평행으로 뻗치며
독선을 고집하는 막막한 세상에
마주 보는 왼발 오른발이 나누는 대화
너무나 애절하다
모든 다른 발들이 평행으로 가는데
그의 두발이 마주 서로를 보듬듯 걷고 있다

Feet Talk to Me
On the subway
Line Five at Chongro Station
Pushed along by the ocean wave of the crowd
There is a man whose feet turn inwards
The toes face each other
My two feet, in parallel
Look at his friendly feet
They bend toward each other
Right talking to left
They ask about each other
So, are you feeling well today
They walk along, conversing in whispers
Feet that usually walk in parallel their whole lives
Walk facing each other,
Surrendering the parallel
Become each other’s Buddha
Millions of faces fighting fiercely
Are inside the two feet
The feet are like a couple
Men and women stretch together
And in the dreary world persist in self-righteousness
His left foot and right foot
Looking at each other, conversing
Seem so passionately pitiable
All other feet go in parallel, though
His two feet are walking
Hugging each other
