Mom’s Voice – Han Hye-yung

Mom’s Voice

One day Mom’s voice is tender tender
And soft as freshly baked bread.
“Aww, I love you my pumpkin”
It smells sweet and savory.

One day Mom’s voice is hard hard
And dried off as bread bought five days ago
“What’s this? Is this your grade?”
It gives me something to cry about.

One day mom’s voice is indifferent
And unconscious as a moldy crust of bread
“Why do you keep bothering me?”
The one that I can’t even remember when I bought.
